Popular American internet streaming media service provider, Netflix, is now available in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
Speaking during a keynote at the Consumer Electronics Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Reed Hastings, Nexflix’s CEO announced that the company had expanded its’ reach to 190 countries by bringing it’s internet TV network to more than 130 new countries around the world.
“Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network,” said Hastings. “With this launch, consumers around the world — from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo — will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously — no more waiting. With the help of the Internet, we are putting power in consumers’ hands to watch whenever, wherever and on whatever device.”
Consumers can pick what suits them best from a choice of 3 packages i.e. Basic ($7.99 – Ksh. 817), Standard ($9.99 – Ksh. 1,022) and Premium ($11.99 – Ksh. 1,226).
All packages come with unlimited movies and TV shows plus a 30 day trial period.
Thanks to fast Internet Service Providers like Zuku and Jamii Telecommunication (Faiba) , consumers will now be able to watch what they want, when they want to and at affordable prices.
